Learn and Play is a free website of games and tests to learn languages. This policy explains what data we keep, why, and what you can do about it.
Who is responsible
The developer of Learn and Play (letslearnandplay.com) is responsible for your data. For any question, or to ask us to see, correct or delete your data, write to trylearnandplay@gmail.com.
Without an account
You can use the whole website without an account. Then we do not collect any personal data: what you do (your eggs, your results, your favorites, your nickname and your collection) is saved only in your browser, on your device. Nobody else can see it, and you can delete it from My Profile.
With an account (only for people aged 16 or older)
An account is optional and only for people aged 16 or older: to create one you confirm that you are. We ask only for your email address and a password. We keep: your email, your password (Firebase keeps only a protected form of it; we never see it), an internal identifier, your public code, your nickname and your progress on the website (eggs, results, collection and favorites), and the date you accepted this policy.
We use these data only to run your account: to keep your progress on every device, to let you recover your password and, later, to let other users send you a gift with your code. Your nickname and your code may be seen by other users; your email never. We use them because you agree to it when you create the account.
Who stores the data
The accounts and their data are stored by Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore) on behalf of this website. Google's servers may be in a country other than yours. Firebase also keeps technical records of each sign-in to keep accounts secure.
Privacy and security in Firebase
No cookies, no advertising
We do not use cookies. If you sign in, your session is kept in your browser's storage, not in a cookie. To know how many people visit us, from which countries and which games they like, we use a simple visit counter (GoatCounter) that uses no cookies, does not identify you and does not follow you to other websites. We do not show or sell advertising, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone.
Your rights
You can see, correct and delete your data at any time, and withdraw your consent: you can delete your account and everything saved in it from your account page, or write to trylearnandplay@gmail.com. In Colombia these rights are protected by Law 1581 of 2012; we answer within the terms the law sets.
People under 16
People under 16 cannot create an account. They can use the whole website without one, and then no personal data is collected. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will publish the new version here with its date, and we will tell people with an account.
